    Each year the U.S. News & World Report releases their annual rankings of the best high schools in the nation. Based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college the high schools were awarded a gold, silver or bronze medal.

    The Panhandle Area Educational Consortium is pleased to announce the following schools in our member districts received medals.



    Silver

    Walton County – Freeport High School - #97 in Florida
    Wakulla County –Wakulla High School - # 172 in Florida

    Bronze (Nationally Recognized)
    Calhoun County – Altha School, Blountstown High School
    Gulf County – Port St. Joe High School
    Jackson County –Graceville High School, Sneads
    Walton County –Paxton School, Walton High School
